Fat Injection Procedure

Fat injection treatments are performed by using the patient’s own excess fat from the abdomen, hips, or buttocks to rejuvenate targeted areas of the face. Depending on the extent of the procedure, a local anesthetic or IV sedation is utilized for comfort.

After any unusable cells have been removed, the harvested fat is then injected to the target site to restore volume. Many of Dr. White’s patients choose to combine fat injection treatments with other facial rejuvenation treatments such as chin augmentation, facelift, eyelid lift or mid-facelift procedures to enhance results.

The Recovery Process

Though the procedure is minimally-invasive, there still may be mild bruising or swelling at the injection site.

The extent of this bruising and swelling will depend on the number and areas being treated, but should resolve in 2-3 days. Any post-treatment discomfort can often be easily treated with over-the-counter pain medication. Many patients experience little to no downtime after the procedure.
